Lynn Man Charged in Motor Vehicle Insurance Fraud Case

Complaints were issued against a Lynn man on charges of motor vehicle insurance fraud and attempt to commit a crime.  The Lynn man allegedly reported to Safety Insurance Company that on August 31, 2024 his 2014 Jeep Cherokee was hit while parked and unattended with damage to the front end and driver side.  Police were never notified of the loss.  A damage analysis determined that the insured vehicle damages were not consistent with a hit while parked event.  The damage to the vehicle was caused by striking a wooden vertical fixed object while in motion.  Wood pulp was found in the damaged areas.  The Lynn man denied causing any damage to the vehicle and stated that it was not possible that anyone else drove the vehicle during the time of the hit and run.
