Roxbury Man Charged in Motor Vehicle Insurance Fraud Case

A complaint was filed against a Roxbury man on a charge of motor vehicle insurance fraud.  The Roxbury man is alleged to have reported to Arbella Mutual Insurance Company that on October 30, 2022, his 2016 Audi A6 was hit while parked causing damage to the driver side rear and rear bumper.  He filed a police report about the damage.  A forensic analysis revealed that the damage to the left rear side of the Audi was inconsistent with a hit while parked claim.  Abrasive scratching and scoring suggested contact with concrete during a low-speed backing maneuver.  The Roxbury man confirmed that the Audi had damage to the left rear side with no prior damage.  He later stated that he found scratches on the driver side rear and the rear bumper.  Later in the investigation, he claimed the damage was on the passenger side and that he could not recall how it happened since it occurred a long time ago.
