Lynn Woman Charged After Admitting She Lied About Crash to Get Claim Paid
Complaints were issued against a Lynn woman on charges of motor vehicle insurance fraud and attempt to commit a crime. The Lynn woman is alleged to have reported to Arbella Insurance Company that on September 21, 2023, she was driving her 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe when an unknown vehicle backed into the Hyundai before fleeing the scene. This allegedly caused damage to the front bumper of the Hyundai. Investigation revealed that the Lynn woman did not have collision coverage for the Hyundai at the time of the loss. A damage analysis revealed that the Hyundai was traveling in a forward motion when it struck a chain link fence. Wood and vegetation was found in the damaged area. The Lynn woman later stated that the actual loss occurred on September 19, 2023, when she struck a fence with the Hyundai. She stated that she was not truthful about the time and nature of the loss because she did not have collision coverage at that time, and she wanted the claim to be paid. The Lynn woman stated that she called Arbella to add collision coverage after the loss on September 19, 2023.
