Peabody Woman on Pre-Trial Probation for Fraudulent Insurance Claim

A Peabody woman was placed on pre-trial probation for six months on charges of filing a fraudulent insurance claim and attempt to commit a crime.  The Peabody woman reported to Safety Insurance Company that on June 05, 2023, her 2017 Infinity QX50 was hit while parked while unattended in a mall parking lot with damage to the passenger side front fender and lower front bumper area.  A damage analysis determined that the insured vehicle's damages were not consistent with a hit while parked event.  The damage to the vehicle was caused by striking a fixed object while in motion.  Stones and yellow non-automotive latex paint were found in the damaged area.  The Peabody woman denied causing any damage to the vehicle.  She stated that no one else drives her vehicle and she sleeps with her keys.
